eden analog guitar effect pedals, nashville detroit and austin

Eden Analog was founded by Chris Sheppard and Robert Hafley in order to bring great sounding American made effects to guitarists. Long ago they started modifying existing pedals in the search for that tone you hear in your head when you lie down to sleep at night.

With a growing contempt for the way mass-produced effects were made, they began to design and build distortion pedals for their own use. By using high quality components specifically selected for a particular purpose rather than purely for cost effectiveness, they discovered that truly great sounding and quiet effect pedals could be built.

Eden Analog builds three drive pedals - The Nashville, The Austin, and The Detroit. They also build a compressor - The Cold Compress, and a true analog chorus pedal - The Sync3.

As a studio owner and guitarist interested in the tonal individuality of amplifiers and the musicality of guitar effects, I was impressed with what these pedals could do for tone - and what they didn’t do it. They deliver a controllable and usable degree of gain to push the amp while being extremely quiet both when active and when in bypass mode. They are great tools for the studio and live applications. When I tried the Cold Compress, I put the Keely compressor pedal aside and invested in the company. Now, it seems as though I’m always having to replace the pedals in the studio, because almost without fail, the guitarists who come into the studio just have to have them.

The Nashville:

A low to medium gain overdrive with tubelike tones and a high signal level output suitable for a flavored boost, as well as an overdrive for expressive breakup with a touch of sustain and high-end sparkle with pluck and grit. TRUE BYPASS. 9 volt battery or power adapter operation.

The Austin:

A medium to high gain overdrive with a hint of "brown" at the highest gain settings. Designed for the Blues player from Chicago, to the Delta, to Austin. TRUE BYPASS. 9 volt battery or power supply operation.

The Detroit:

A medium to ultra-high gain distortion with a chunky bottom and screaming highs without being too fizzy. TRUE BYPASS switching. 9 volt battery or power adapter operation

The Cold Compress:

Introduced at the 2006 Dallas Guitar Show, the Cold Compress is a modern adaptation of a favorite vintage two-knob compressor. It performs well as a signal boost or to get that percussive sound on clean guitar.  Use it as a subtle background effect to get the sustain you need for soloing or as a limiter.

The SYNC3

The Synchronicity is a warm, organic sounding analog chorus. In addition to the usual "speed" and "depth" controls, it has a very useful "color" control that alters the voicing of the pedal, taking it from a rich, lush chorus to a rotary Leslie type effect, or to a dark slow phase. The Synchronicity also works well with acoustic/electric guitars plugged straight into a PA system.
